Delete Your Account

You can request deletion of your My Own Pace account and all associated data at any time.

How to delete your account

From within the app:

  1. Open the My Own Pace app
  2. Go to the "More" tab
  3. Tap your profile
  4. Tap "Delete account"
  5. Confirm the deletion

By email: If you no longer have access to the app, send an email to hello@myownpace.app from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Account deletion request". In line with GDPR Article 17, we will respond without undue delay and at the latest within one month of receipt.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your profile (name, date of birth, gender, country, onboarding answers)
  • Your authentication credentials (email and password)
  • All your habits and habit history
  • All your check-ins (completed, minimum, and rest)
  • Your milestones and Journey events
  • Your earned badges
  • Your turtle companion (Sheldon's stage and progress)
  • AI category insights generated for you
  • Cached AI companion responses
  • Your friendships and friend invites
  • Encouragements you have sent or received
  • Your notification preferences and push token
  • Your app preferences (theme, settings)

What is retained

The following data may be retained after account deletion. Where retention applies, the data is either anonymized (no longer linked to you) or kept only as long as legally necessary:

  • Aggregate AI usage analytics — anonymized after deletion (your user identifier is removed). We retain only the request type, token counts, and cost figures, with no link to you. Used to monitor AI service performance and cost.
  • Terms of service acceptance records — retained for legal-defense purposes as permitted by GDPR Article 17(3)(e). Hidden from all users.
  • Anti-abuse and security logs — sign-up IP logs, login attempt logs, password reset logs, and similar records may be retained for up to 90 days for fraud prevention and account security purposes, after which they are deleted.
  • Contact-form submissions — if you have previously sent us a message via our contact form, that message is retained as a record of the support interaction. You may request deletion of these separately by emailing hello@myownpace.app.
  • Subscription and payment records — held by our payment processor (RevenueCat) and Google Play, as required by their respective policies and applicable tax law.
